Do I Have Your Attention?

Sometimes it takes a little more effort than average to get your prospect’s attention.

Their real attention.

Not just a fleeting glance or a quick thought, but focused attention on what you are trying to tell them.

A “hands-on” experience like a game that people physically touch, tends to get their real attention.

Lots of things have gone digital and that has some serious benefits, but that also makes the extra effort required to give someone a physical experience stand out.

Just thought I’d personally invite you to join the first production run of Clink. Clink is a game designed to get people’s real attention. This is a physical tabletop skill-game that lets people compete against each other.

Discs are dropped through rows of pins and the player must catch the discs at the bottom by turning a handle to move the catcher back-and-forth.

Clink is designed to hold prospects at your booth while your salespeople qualify them.

This game tends to work best when you also give away a better prize for the highest score at the end of the show.

It’s also pretty funny to watch people try and beat the high scores of their competitors.

Let me know if you’re interested. I am taking $800 deposits that won’t be invoiced until manufacturing starts. You can cancel at any time and I will send out a reminder before the first run starts to make sure you still want one.

The total price to get your Clink from this first production run will be $4,000.

This first run is limited to 10 total Clink games

If you delay too long you might end up having to play Clink at one of your competitors' booths.

Let me know what you think… about Clink… I’m sorry this rhyme stink.

Clink Is Expensive, But Why?

Hand polished parts.

From left-to-right: unfinished aluminum, hand-polished aluminum, and hand-polished brass.

Catching your prospect's eye requires that perfect finish. A finish carefully crafted by hand every time.

I could have left the parts as unfinished aluminum, that would be the cheapest way after all, but that wouldn't reflect the premium quality of Clink. In fact, the brass catcher shown on the right costs 3X what the aluminum one does but it provides a much higher quality multiplier. Nothing quite like a brass sheen under showroom lights to catch everyone's attention.

Your products deserve people's real attention and not just a passing glance, make sure your booth draws people in for long enough to learn about your company and the value it provides them.

Finding the perfect "clink" for Clink.

Clink is ear-catching as much as eye-catching

Many different material combinations were tested to find that perfect "clink" sound. A sound that's noticeable but not obnoxious, engaging during gameplay to attract watchers but not headache-inducing for your salespeople.

Two types of pins, aluminum and brass, were both tested with each of the following disc materials in the hunt for that "clink": 5052 H32 aluminum, brass, copper, 304 stainless steel, grade 5 titanium, green acrylic, and hardboard.

Thousands of different "clinks" were recorded and obsessed over until that perfect "clink" was found. The soundwave profiles were uploaded and analyzed in the frequency domain to make sure the "clink" had all the right frequencies to catch your prospect's attention as they walk through the noisy tradeshow.

Most of your competitors focus on their booth's visual-appeal, but how many have the correct auditory-appeal? Standing out with sight and sound just might be the perfect combo to draw in those crowds.

Designed to draw a crowd.

What makes something catch peoples attention?

That question has a multitude of answers but Clink is build around a few core concepts to help you get more out of each tradeshow.

  • Random Events

    • The thrill of the unknown outcome, Lady Luck personified, has been drawing people in since before recorded history. The discs falling randomly through the pins and needing to be caught differently every time builds on the proven foundation laid by:

      • dice games, the quintessential games of luck

      • trading cards, opening that pack hoping for the best rare cards

      • loot boxes, exploded in recent times in digital format drawing the fascination of many - basically the new-digital-form of opening trading card packs

      • various betting games at racing tracks, gambling halls, and arcades

  • Physical Interaction

    • Getting hands-on time with a product, or game, solidifies the memory.

      • Clink's physical controls get people interacting in a way that a digital screen just can't replicate.

  • Competing With Others

    • Being the best, the number 1 podium spot, the highest score, drives people to interact with an intensity and focus that not much else can match. This is the basis of almost every competition, sport, and event that people compete in.

      • A high score board let's your prospects challenge each other (and try to beat their competitor's scores) in a challenge to be the best. Giving out a reward for the highest score at the end of the show is also a great way to enhance how well Clink draws people into your booth.

  • Movement and Sound

    • Ear-catching and eye-catching events draw people to investigate. Repeated pleasant sounds and moving parts (like the clink of discs falling through pins) hold people's attention.

Physical feedback creates a stronger memory.

A key advantage of Clink is the authentic, hands-on interaction it provides through its real physical handle. Unlike digital games that rely on tapping a screen, Clink’s physical handle engages multiple senses for a stronger memory. Everyone else is using digital displays to interact with their prospects.

Don't be like everyone else, be different, be memorable.

Players feel the weight, resistance, and feedback of the gameplay, creating a more immersive and memorable experience. This tangible feedback not only makes the game more intuitive and satisfying, but also draws people in, encouraging longer engagement at your booth.

Physical interaction creates stronger emotional connections and lasting impressions, as our brains are wired to remember multi-sensory experiences more vividly than digital ones. The act of gripping and operating a real handle delivers immediate, tactile feedback that screens simply can’t replicate, building excitement and a sense of accomplishment with every “clink”.

All of this just to say that players will remember you after the show.
